We'll be in the Seabreeze complex where the August Moon teahouse was (next to Andante coffee and A is for Artist Gallery). The move will be around the second week of August, depending on when construction is finished. We'll be offering the same exceptional health care services, PLUS, we'll have a much larger natural pharmacy and herbal dispensary. We will also have teas to enjoy on our outdoor patio, or in the comfortable seating area indoors. In the Fall, we will be offering I.V. nutrients and chelation therapy. Dr. Holly Christy’s mission is to help her patients balance their lives by using naturopathic medicine and acupuncture modalities. These modalities include dietary and lifestyle counseling, acupuncture, acutonics, cupping, homeopathy, Eastern and Western botanical medicine, and nutritional medicine. As a primary care physician, Holly addresses all general healthcare needs, including annual and school exams, labwork, preventative maintenance, management of chronic disease and treatment of acute ailments. She also provides adjunctive care for cancer patients and does fittings for custom orthotics.
Holly uses Dr. Richard Tan's Balance Method acupuncture, which is an advanced acupuncture style based on historical Chinese texts, including the I Ching. This method is very effective and can have an immediate affect on acute pain and internal disorders. Dr. Tan says, "We're taking acupuncture into the digital age." Each acupuncture visit is an hour long and the needles are usually retained for 30-45 minutes while you rest comfortably on a Jade Far Infrared heated table.
Eagle Harbor Healing Arts accepts most insurance carriers. It's always a good idea to call your insurance carrier to make sure you are covered for naturopathic medicine and acupuncture prior to your first visit. If your plan requires you to pay a copay, most insurance companies require one copay for each service. For example, if you receive both naturopathic medicine and acupuncture services, you will have to pay 2 copays. This is required by the insurance companies, and we are not legally allowed to waive the second copay. If you wish only to receive one service, please specify that while scheduling your appointment.
A lifelong Washingtonian, Dr. Christy received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington, her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University and Master of Acupuncture from Northwest Institute of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in Seattle. She is a member of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians and is Affiliate Clinical Faculty at Bastyr University Schools of Naturopathic Medicine and Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Dr. Christy has been practicing in Kitsap County since 2000. She moved her practice from Kingston to Bainbridge Island in 2007. She enjoys living in an area where she can pursue her outdoor activities, such as gardening, trail running, mountain biking, surfing, and downhill skiing and snowboarding. Dr. Christy is also a volunteer instructor at Tao-Zen Ryu Shindo martial arts academy in Poulsbo, where she holds a black belt.
